Since their inception in 2010 the trio of Jeremiah Cymerman, Toby Driver and Mario Diaz de Leon, has been steadily forging a singular and enigmatic approach to free improvisation and electroacoustic music. Their 2016 debut recording 'Sheen" was met with universal praise, receiving enthusiastic reviews from publications such as the Wire, Downbeat, the New York Observer and the Brooklyn Rail. The album, an intimate and surreal exploration of intricate sound worlds and dark ambiance, marked a milestone for the group and was described by Bill Meyer of Downbeat as music offering “a prophetic visions for a jazz trio can do”. Performing only a handful of concerts in their seven year history, the group functions with the telepathic interplay of master improvisers, all focused through their own personal lens and shared history of musical experience. In preparation for their second studio recording, Bloodmist now presents CHAOS OF MEMORY, two full length concert recordings from 2016 and 2017. Recorded at Roulette and the Stone, respectively, CHAOS OF MEMORY finds the band at home in New York City performing hypnotic and ritualistic improvisations for enthusiastic audiences from all different backgrounds. Meticulously mixed by Cymerman CHAOS OF MEMORY marks a step forward for the group as they ready their next studio offering.
